Linking Intersections

On this day May 1 2025 as Mental Health Awareness month begins, we at Crime Stoppers of Halton are reaching in to our community as we begin raising awareness about the linking intersections of community and mental health wellness. Yours Mine Ours Intersectionality

May 1 to 7 National Youth Week. Reaching in supporting and protecting our youth, our tomorrow. Youth, a time of growth, a time of transition. Community, a time to listen, a time to hear Celebrating youth achievements, talents and contributions.

Linking community culture and commonalities provides unique social connections. Social connections are a basic human need. These connections foster community, create community connectivity, and provide a sense of belonging. Connection within the community provides a wraparound effect of support and compassion in times of grief and a unified strength in times of healing. The journeys of grieving and healing are not linear. Kindness, understanding, and acceptance are essential when journeying through these emotions. Extending care, compassion, and grace to others lends itself to resilient connections and supports community wellbeing. Practicing self-care, self-compassion and extending grace to oneself increases individual resilience and wellbeing.
